About Pathmind

Pathmind started out as a productivity workspace project in 2024, first in a chrome extension form, it featured a simple UI and intuitive functionality which was not yet as sophisticated as today. For a primitive version it already had text, images, notes, files and even signing functionality.

Furthermore, in the next updates, you were able to add values and formulas just like now to perform calculations.

But it’s not rare for software to change, people’s requirements change, it does so as well. It needs to live up to standards, so the tool transformed into a web app and became a fully fledged online workspace, it increased user efficiency, work speed and the UI was refreshed as well as was given many new features users could use to make more advanced mind maps. For example the video thought was introduced as well as it got a way bigger canvas dependant on the screen size. On top of that many new formula types were added as well as the variable system. Over the course of 2025, Pathmind has achieved a major user count which can likely link to it’s fully free usage tier which offers more than most sites out there.

It’s highly valued amongst users, with many of them pointing out how easy it is to use:

But how close is it to any of theese? You might say. Well it mixes a little bit of each: you get note taking from Notion, combined with the online workspace from XMind or MindMeister, with mind mapping capabilities of Miro, XMind and Ayoa.

It might not be exactky like NotebookLm, but it also increases your productivity when at work by helping you plan your projects digitally and do deep research. That’s exactly what many people enjoy most about productivity software; it’s simple to use and you can get pretty much everything done with it.
